Kekova Boat Tour Meeting Point and Time
The Kekova boat tour is one of the most popular cultural tours departing daily from Demre Cayagzi harbor. The Kekova tour is a unique experience that allows you to discover not only swimming spots but also historical and cultural treasures. Also known as the Sunken City tour, this trip offers ancient ruins and natural beauties together.
Our meeting point is Demre Cayagzi harbor. We depart at 10:00 AM and return at 17:00.
Guests wishing to join our tour must make a reservation at least 1 day in advance.
We recommend that guests bring their beach towels and swimwear. For guests who cannot swim, we have plenty of life jackets on our boat.
Burc Bay
Our boat departs from Demre Cayagzi harbor at 10:00 and our first stop is Burc Bay. The sea in this area is slightly cooler due to natural cold underwater springs. The clay found here is said to be beneficial for skin conditions.
After a 1-hour swimming break at Burc Bay, we head to our next stop, the Sunken City!
Kekova Sunken City - Underwater Ruins
You can observe the ruins of the city that sank beneath the waters due to an earthquake in the 2nd century through the glass panels on the bottom of our boat.
Swimming is strictly prohibited in this protected area. The area is guarded 24/7 by the coast guard. Our guide will provide all necessary information about this historical heritage.
You can observe all the ruins with the naked eye and through the glass viewing panels on our boat.
Kalekoy - Simena Castle
This village, which takes its name from the Ottoman-era Simena Castle, is the only village in Turkey with no road access.
Only locals live in this protected village, and its goat milk ice cream is famous.
During our 1-hour break in this village, you can explore the village or climb to the castle. You can contribute to the village's development by shopping from local vendors.
Hamidiye Bay - Lunch Break
Our next stop is Hamidiye Bay. During World War I, the Ottoman warship Hamidiye, registered in the Ottoman inventory, is said to have inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy from this bay.
During our swimming and lunch break in this bay, guests are served fresh fish (sea bass/sea bream), pasta, salad, greens and olive oil dishes. The meal is free. Drinks are extra.
Gokkaya Bay - Swimming Break
In this bay consisting of islands and peninsulas, we have a 1-hour swimming break. Guests who wish can try the water sports available in the area for an additional fee.
Pirate Cave
We visit this cave where swimming is prohibited for a 20-minute photo break.
Andriake Beach - Caretta Caretta
The last swimming break of our tour is at this beach. Here, guests are served a complimentary fruit platter and tea.
Andriake Beach is one of the nesting areas for endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles. You can swim with the turtles and take their photos.
